RICHMOND, VA- The transition from Fight Music Producer to Film Composer continues for Mikey Rukus. Just weeks after signing on to score the action film Fight Valley, which will star mixed martial arts notables such as Miesha Tate and Cristiane
"Cyborg" Justino, Rukus has his second film lined up, the horror film Take 2: The Audition, which stars Hollywood actor Tyler Mane, mosted noted for his roles as Michael Myers in the Halloween reboots as well as the original Sabertooth in the first X-Men installement.
Mane plays Hal Wolfe, a young and talented horror film director driven by the authenticity of fear, pain…and murder, lands him a 25 year prison sentence when he forces one actor to end the life of the other while the camera’s rolling. Despite the protests from the angry community, Hal is granted freedom after serving his term…and now he is destined to finish what he started. He is ready for Take 2. At the present day, 12 aspiring actors from all walks of life respond to a rather odd casting call which boasts a multi-million dollar budget and fame and fortune for the lucky chosen ones, they set out on foot, unaware that they are being watched during their travels. Little do they know, the cameras are rolling and they are the stars of TAKE 2: The Audition, the movie that started Hal’s obsession.
The horror feature is written and directed by Rob Hawk, with executive producer Bernie Wilson. This is the second time Mikey Rukus is working with Hawk, as Rukus is currently in the midst of assembling the Official Soundtrack for Fight Valley. As is the case in Hollywood, many directors often find that one composer who can capture their vision through a score/soundtrack, and the two will partner over several films. This appears to be what is taking place here.
Mikey has been working quietly behind the scenes or quite some time in regards to his transition and subsequent expansion from the niche of the mixed martial arts community from which he solely created. Its seems that the transition is in full swing, as there are even more films, video games and other sports arenas in which he is in negotiations with that will come to light very soon.
